That's easy: among other valid reasons, I am falling asleep at the wheel of my car when I drive to work, and even on the weekend when I drive around. I feel impaired in the quality of my work both at my day job, in the congregation, and at home. I could stay up at night and write after everybody has gone to sleep, or get up early in the morning (which is what I did for NaNoWriMo 2007) but until The Boy is allowing me better quality of sleep, I think I should just be a wishful observer and realize my limitations right now. I have my eyes set on next year, or even the next JulNoWriMo.

However, I do have November plans, and I'll have a post out about that soon!

Nope. Never did it. But the reason I would love to do it is so that I have an excuse to let go of everything and just write! Is that realistic for me, though? Not with kids and my busy schedule. *sigh* My other option would be to lock myself up in a remore cabin up north somewhere during the winter holidays...

Would love to participate in this! But I don't get enough sleep as it is. I will just need to keep cranking it one day at a time.

Thanks, Laura! I remember that post & just reviewed it now. I like the part about using it to record an impromptu dialog between characters. I'll have to give that a shot. Also, I will attempt to use the recorder in a very purposeful way, expecting to get a certain result out of each use, such as a specific scene in a story. Hopefully I can post some good results soon!

Hey Guy,
You might like this article about how to use the voice recorder:
http://nouveauwriter.blogspot.com/2009/05/this-tape-will-not-self-destruct-in.html
I also always carry a notebook everywhere I go, and I learned to jot down ideas, phrases, quotes and the like, on the go.
Hope this helps!

I know, right? I cheated a little bit by using a review that I had already posted here. How does someone write a guest blog from scratch? I guess it is similar to writing an article for one's own blog, except that it has to almost match the voice of the other blog. I am still working on just writing articles, for practice and for a portfolio. Any tips on how one comes up with interesting ideas would be most appreciated.

BTW, thanks for posting a comment, I appreciate it. Mostly it is just me & the crickets here so far, with few commenters.

Guest posting *is* surprisingly intimidating. I completely froze up when I sat down to write my first guest post. Couldn't get a single thought to sound right. And the really ironic part was that I was writing about how I didn't believe in writer's block! :p
